The most recent edition, held at the iconic Atlantis, The Palm, once again brought together leading companies and industry professionals for an evening of recognition, networking, and celebration, further reinforcing the Awards’ reputation as one of the most important events in the global maritime calendar.

Held under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, the TMS Awards continue to set the benchmark for excellence. His longstanding support reflects the credibility, prestige, and growing international influence of the Awards within the global maritime community.

Key Maritime Figures Spotlighted at the TMS Awards Ceremony

Opening the proceedings, Trevor Pereira, Managing Director of The Maritime Standard, highlighted the importance of the occasion, noting that the Awards represent a celebration of both industry achievements and the growing global stature of the region’s maritime sector.

The keynote address was delivered by Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, Chief Executive of ADNOC Logistics & Services. In his address, he emphasised the vital role played by maritime professionals in powering global trade and recognised the resilience, innovation, and leadership that continue to drive the industry forward.

The 2025 Awards ceremony was hosted by the renowned Sky News reporter Yalda Hakim, alongside respected regional media personality Rania Ali, reflecting the event’s continued ability to attract high-profile international and regional talent.

Over the years, the TMS Awards have welcomed an impressive lineup of globally recognised hosts, including Peter Shilton, Jon Culshaw, Alastair Campbell, Ruud Gullit, Jim Clancy, Tim Wilcox, Lara Dutta, and Debra Stephenson, underlining the prestige and international appeal of the event.

The TMS Awards 2025 celebrated over 25 categories, recognising outstanding achievements across shipping, ports, and maritime sectors, along with special honours for leadership, innovation, and lifetime contributions.

Top winners included Nafeesa Moloobhoy, awarded the Maritime Standard Woman in Shipping Award, and Capt. Yousuf Alsager, who received the Editor’s Choice Award. Other distinguished recipients were Captain Mohamed Al Ali, recognised with the Outstanding Achievement Award, and Tony Dagher, celebrated for his exceptional impact on the maritime industry.

The ceremony also acknowledged individuals and organisations driving operational excellence, pioneering initiatives, and landmark achievements. Transformative efforts in sustainability, digitalisation, and innovative shipping practices were highlighted, reinforcing the region’s position as a global leader and its commitment to shaping the future of maritime operations.
