TMS Awards 2025 Introduces Digital and Heavylift Categories
BackThe TMS Awards 2025, which will take place in Dubai at the Atlantis, The Palm, on Wednesday October 29th, will this year feature two new Awards that will be evaluated by an elite panel of judges.
Digitalisation is at the top of the agenda for most maritime sector companies right now, and in recognition of the importance of initiatives in this space, TMS will present The Digital Transformation Award for the first time. This will will be awarded to the maritime company based in the region that has best harnessed digital technology, including AI and other cutting edge solutions, to improve their operations and customer facing services, as well as to deliver improvements in other areas such as safety and sustainability. It will also be open to digital technology specialists that have worked with companies in the maritime sector to accelerate their digital transformation journeys.
Clive Woodbridge, Chair of Judges, says, ”Digitalisation is an area where companies in the Middle East Gulf and Subcontinent regions are really leading the world. So I am excited to see some really innovative and trailblazing companies and products come under the spotlight through this Award.”
The second new Award reflects the increase in demand for specialist maritime services to help deliver the many major energy and infrastructure projects now taking place across the region. The Heavylift/Project Cargo Company of the Year Award will be presented to a company involved in the shipping, transportation and/or handling of heavy lift and/or project cargoes that has achieved the most exceptional success. This could be a heavy lift vessel operator; a port or terminal operator with heavy lift/project cargo handling facilities; a ship agent supporting heavy lift or project cargo operations; or any other service provider for the heavy lift/ project cargo transportation sector.
Clive says, “This is a vital niche segment which is helping to deliver major large scale investment projects across the region. There will be many top quality contenders I am sure for an Award that seems very timely to make this year.”
